A-dec Australia has announced the appointment of father and son team Bruce and Scott Williams as their new Territory Managers to service Victoria and Tasmania.
Bruce Williams was the founder of Williams Dental, formerly one of three A-dec dealers serving the Victorian market out of Melbourne. The appointment follows his decision to close down the business and from May 1, 2006 has jointly taken on the role of Territory Manager which recently became vacant with the retirement of Ed Caldwell earlier this year.
Bruce Williams has a distinguished 35-year history in the dental industry, being among the first people in Australia to handle A-dec equipment while at Ramsay Surgical in the 1970's (along with Keith Mentiplay who later became A-dec Australia's general manager).
"Rather than losing a dealer we have gained a very experienced couple of Territory Managers which we needed to fill the gap left by the retirement of Ed Caldwell," A-dec Australia's Sales and Marketing Manager, Stephen Jennings. "As well as being very experienced, Ed was well known and liked in the industry and had it not been for Bruce and Scott, his shoes would have been very hard to fill."
Both Bruce and Scott have been trained in the complete range of A-dec equipment, including attending the A-dec Australia Dealer Meeting in Newberg USA in late 2005 to preview the new A-dec Preference Slimline range of cabinetry and delivery systems.
Bruce and Scott will share technical and sales roles across both states, with Scott concentrating more on sales and after sales service, and Bruce focussing more on the technical side to advise on and oversee new installations and helping customers work out their equipment requirements.
This was particularly important given the innovations like the A-dec Preference ICC (Infection Control Centre) and 12 o'clock and side delivery systems which gave dentists new options to consider for equipping their practices for the future.
