Broke a tooth on the turkey leg? The ADA can find you a dentist

Emergencies

Dental emergencies can occur at any time of the year but during the holidays it can be worrying to think that you can't see a dentist if you have a problem. Dental emergencies may have significant health consequences and that is why the Australian Dental Association (ADA) has processes in place to help patients receive care over the Christmas period.

The ADA State Branches have compiled a list of private dental practices that will provide emergency dental care over the Christmas period. Services will be limited to relieve pain or trauma and the provision of antibiotics where required. Patients will be referred to a rostered emergency dentist by either web-based or telephone services. Costs will apply for any treatment provided.

Arrangements vary depending from state to state depending on where patients live so the first point of call is to check the website of the ADA Branch in your State or Territory outlined below:

Patients eligible for publicly funded care should contact their local health department for details of services available.
