Australian Pavilion again showcases local products at IDEM Singapore 2010

Several Australian dental manufacturers and ancillary services providers exhibited at the IDEM Singapore 2010 Australian Pavilion organised by the Australian Dental Industry Association and Fairlab, local representatives of event organiser Koelnmesse.

"We exhibit as part of the Australian Pavilion at both IDEM in Singapore and IDS in Germany," said John Green, managing director of William Green Pty Ltd, Australia's only manufacturer of dental units. "These Pavilions have been the catalyst for the development of our export business over the past several years and they offer a number of benefits to participants.

"A key benefit is greater exposure as the Pavilions are more visible than a single booth and people are generally interested in Australia and doing business with us. There is also an inherent comradery amongst exhibitors which helps to build a positive atmosphere."

Mr Green has exhibited at the Australian Pavilion in Germany several times and this was the company's second visit to IDEM Singapore.

"We achieved a good level of sales at the show and we met with dealers in a number of markets that want to take on distributorships. Dentists at the show were also interested in our products and we are now able to direct them to a supplier in their region.

"We have some unique products and there is a growing awareness of our products and the quality of Australian made. There has been a lot of cheap units in the market for some time and there is a growing backlash against this. Our products sit between the cheap Chinese units and the far more expensive European brands and that is bearing fruit.

Jason Hogan from Hogies Australia who manufacture the MaximEyes loupes and frames, exhibited at IDEM Singapore for the third time.

"We have a very good presence in the regional already and exhibiting in Singapore is always worthwhile. We made strong direct sales to customers from Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia as well as meeting with dealers looking to take on distribution."

Other Australian companies in the Pavilion included Dentium Toothpaste; Sieverts Radiation Consultancy;V Dental; and TrollDental. Australia's most succesful exporter, SDI Limited, exhibited separately, as did Medfin.
