Australia's premier dental event, ADX Sydney, will be transformed following the appointment of an events sector leader, Ms Linda Gaunt, to the staff of the Australian Dental Industry Association (ADIA).
ADIA convenes the ADX Sydney dental exhibition and a range of supporting regional trade shows in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth that are all about bringing the dental community together in order to explore the dental industry's latest diagnostic and treatment options.
Over 2005-16 Ms Gaunt was the Chief Executive Officer of Meetings and Events Australia (MEA), the association dedicated to promoting the growth of the meetings, conventions and business events industry. As the new ADIA Exhibitions Strategy Manager, Ms Gaunt's experience will be vital to helping cement the reputation of Australia's largest healthcare tradeshow as the dental industry's premier event.
"This appointment stems from the direction set out in the 2016-20 ADIA Strategic Plan which commits us to strengthening not only ADX Sydney but also the regional shows we manage. The task of developing a strategy to achieve this falls to Ms Gaunt who was the stand-out candidate from a strong field to undertake this work," said Troy Williams, ADIA Chief Executive Officer.
Combining Australia's largest healthcare trade show with a continuing professional development program, the biennial ADX Sydney dental exhibition has around five hundred exhibition booths and attracts close to ten thousand stakeholders from across the dental community. It's anticipated that thanks to Ms Gaunt's leadership ADX Sydney will further develop into an event that truly excites Australia's entire dental community.
"It's an exciting opportunity to take a great exhibition like ADX Sydney and ensure that it is recognised nation-wide as the must-attend event for the entire dental community. The changes that we're planning are sure to attract interest from dentists and allied oral healthcare professionals who haven't yet attended ADX Sydney," Ms Gaunt said.
ADX Sydney is convened by ADIA, the peak business organisation representing manufacturers and suppliers of dental products, a member of the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) and the Exhibition and Event Association of Australasia (EEAA).
"We are excited by Ms Gaunt's appointment and the fact that we are able to recruit such a high-calibre candidate to the team within the ADIA National Office says a lot about our reputation for delivering world-class events," Mr Williams said.
In her role as ADIA Exhibitions Strategy Manager Ms Gaunt will be ably assisted by Ms Jan Van Dyk as ADIA Exhibitions Operations Manager.
