More than 50 dentists attended the opening of A-dec's new showroom in the Melbourne suburb of Hawthorn during a two-day open day in June.
The Melbourne showroom enables dentists to have greater access to A-dec's full range of equipment, including partner products from W&H and Sopro Acteon.
The Melbourne showroom displays the company's dental units in realistic dental surgery settings - similar to the equipment on show at A-dec's headquarters at Mascot in Sydney. A third A-dec showroom is scheduled to open shortly in Brisbane.
The new Melbourne and soon-to-be-opened Brisbane showrooms complement the 13 individual A-dec dealer showrooms and authorised service centres nationwide.
The aim of the new A-dec corporate showrooms is to enable more dentists to experience first-hand the complete range of A-dec delivery systems options, A-dec Preference™ cabinetry, Acteon Sopro digital imaging equipment, intraoral cameras, W&H handpieces and sterilization solutions.
Dentists can access the showroom by appointment with their A-dec Territory Managers or local A-dec dealers who can guide them through the various models of A-dec chairs and show them all the options available with A-dec's flexible delivery systems and ancillary equipment.
According to A-dec's Director of International Sales - Asia, Pacific Rim & Latin America, Craig Young, the showroom has already yielded genuine purchase enquiries during the opening event, which is a promising sign for the expanded corporate showroom concept.
This builds further on the appointment of additional A-dec dealers in recent years to service dentists in regional areas including Newcastle and the Central Coast north of Sydney, the Queensland Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and Far North Queensland as well as those dealers already based in capital cities.
A special feature of the new showrooms is the inclusion of A-dec Preference™ surgery cabinets and A-dec's ICC "Infection Control Centre" to demonstrate how Preference can provide better materials management, workflow and storage for all sizes and shape of practices, plus fully configured delivery systems in a range of styles complete with all ancillary instruments including Acteon X-ray units, Sopro intraoral cameras and W&H handpieces.
The new Melbourne showroom has also been used to conduct ergonomics training for dental hygienists, dental therapists and assistants, using actual dental units and dental stools to help promote optimum dental posture under the guidance of dentist and Alexander Technique practitioner, Dr Aniko Ball.
The new Melbourne showroom is located at Suite 1, 260 Auburn Road Hawthorn not far from the Melbourne CBD and is approximately 30 minutes from Melbourne airport.
