50,000 Strong Dental Community Masses Online

Celebrations and milestones Social Media

With more than 50,000 people liking the Australian Dental Industry Association (ADIA) page on Facebook, it's clear there is widespread interest in the dental industry's role empowering oral health professionals to advance the health and well-being of all Australians.

"Earlier this week we passed the 50,000 people milestone and since then another 1,000 people have supported the ADIA Facebook page. This highlights the momentum that builds on social media when there is interest in the work of an industry that's so important to healthcare delivery," said Troy Williams, ADIA Chief Executive Officer.

As the peak business organisation representing manufacturers and suppliers of dental products, ADIA's primary priority is on providing advice, guidance and support to those businesses; however, ADIA has a clear focus on engaging dental and oral healthcare professionals across the nation.

"ADIA's aim here is to build a community that, as a result of the symbiotic relationship that exists between the dental industry and dental profession, has a shared interest in achieving optimal oral healthcare outcomes thanks to the new and innovative products introduced by the dental industry. " said Troy Williams, ADIA Chief Executive Officer.

The ADIA Facebook page is used as a platform to engage with individuals from across the sector in order to raise awareness of the issues important to manufacturers and suppliers of dental products. Issues covered range from the latest updates on dental exhibitions, through to policy advocacy and training courses. Posts about the dental industry statistics produced by ADIA always generate a large amount of interest.

"We constantly review how professionals across the dental and oral health community respond to different messages and issues. It's a great way to understand the interests of the oral healthcare community and how ADIA, and the broader dental industry, can support their work," Mr Williams said.

An outcome of the 2016-20 ADIA Strategic Plan to be launched next month will be to utilise theADIA Facebook Page as a platform to raise the profile of member businesses, their products and services.

The ADIA Facebook page can be found online at: www.facebook.com.au/dental.industry.
