A dozen Australians were amongst the 40,000 attendees at the recent 79th Greater New York Dental Meeting staged in late November and early December in New York City, USA.
The meeting was the largest in the history of the Session with an expanded continuing education program encompassing over 300 seminars, hands-on workshops, essay presentations, table demonstrations and specialty events. The 40,000 attendees from all over the world included over 10,000 dentists.
The trade exhibition represented over 550 manufacturers and distributors offering participants a view of the latest, most advanced technologies available to dental professionals.
Educational programs experienced record participation as dental professionals sought to incorporate the latest information into their practices. World recognized clinicians presented the finest programs, offering attendees an opportunity to experience cutting-edge dental modalities.
"The primary goal of our Meeting is to bring all dental professionals together in one venue in order to facilitate an exchange of techniques, technologies and methodologies in order to keep dentistry in the forefront of quality health care throughout the world. The greatest benefit to every dental patient is our primary endeavour," Dr Howard I.A. Lieb, General Chairman of the 2003 Session said.
The gathering was addressed by Dr Eugene Sekiguchi, President of the American Dental Association, Dr Heung-Ryul Yoon, President of the FDI World Dental Federation and Dr William Calnon, President of the New York State Dental Association at its Presidential Luncheon. In addition, participants were entertained by a wonderful presentation by Mrs Barbara Bush, mother of the current President of the United States and wife of the 41st President at the annual celebrity luncheon. Participants also enjoyed the dazzling New York, New York revue presented by world famous Le Masquerade's Cirque Le Masque at the annual formal dinner-dance.
